Hi

I should have started with this section, sorry.

Though I experienced a Windows interlude for a few years, I've always been on Macs. Indigo iMac, Graphite Clamshell, G4 Cube, Intel Macbook, Macbook Air. I recently acquired a G3 Pismo (400). Playing and working with OS9, my experience with Sys 7 is very limited (emulation only)

Welcome to the party MigMac. That is a nice selection of Macs you have used. I did run System 7 on hardware back in the day, but my experiences are now also all with emulation. Enjoy your stay, many users here work the Classic Mac OS in emulation. The Pismo was/is an excellent laptop much appreciated by it users for its reliability and usefulness.

Welcome MigMac! :)

I ended up getting a Beige G3 to run Mac OS 8 then skinned it with a System 7 scheme just to be officially part of the club, lol, but I do own a PowerBook 2400c which can run System 7, yet just like many of us here, a lot of us mostly use it in emulation. I think I’m running Mac OS 8.6 on my oldest working Mac; and right now, as far as real Macs, I’m mostly using a G4 Mac Mini with OS 9 (closest to your G4 Cube, and what a cool Mac that is, too!) :)

So welcome! :D we cover more than just System 7, though like the song says, “there’s nothing like the real thing baby”, and Macs really came into their own with System 7, emulated or on bare metal ;)
