Big moon out yesterday with a partial lunar eclipse. It was a very nice evening here in the upper midwest of the USA. I sat out on the porch and got to take it all in. From what I read it was visible in much of the world. Is it something else we got to share in common?

Not here in Bavaria. But I didn't pay attention to it either and nothing on the news. There's also so much artificial light at night these days that it sometimes gets very hard to spot the night sky in its full beauty.

Are you regularly watching the sky, e.g. via a telescope ?

I am a simple neolithic sky gazer. If it can not be seen by eyes only I do not see it. Light solution coupled with my aging eyes really limits what I can observe. I do subscribe to sky event calendars, so I can keep up on what is going on. The calendars are all ical files and I have had them in my calendar app since Claris Organizer. I am enough of a sky watcher that I traveled 500 miles to watch a total solar eclipse. I do make it a point to try and watch any eclipse in my area.

On the last partial solar eclipse I set up a pin hole sort of camera on an stand casting the image onto the concrete driveway. It attracted all the neighborhood kids too. (Our idiot president at the time was photographed looking directly at the sun.)

It is just a fun thing I have done since I was a little kid, prior to computers and ical files I used an ephemeris to keep track of interesting happenings in the Sky. There were several live feeds of last nights event on YouTube. I noticed on was from Norway. Of course given a choice between live and YouTube, I did the live along with beer and good cigar.
