Sounds good. Though i wonder why anyone with a colour-capable Mac would pick to play in black & white instead. Maybe the low end 68020s like a LC or Mac II would benefit from some speed gain ? I have neither to test and confirm that, sorry.

Judging by my IIci, Angry Robots runs fine and is ready for "prime time", Nightingale. Good job!

@Bolkonskij There's also an aesthetic charm to B&W games, videos and images that is absent in color. Generally I find color better, but I can see where people may prefer B&W over it.

Absolutely! I love 1-bit art of the beautiful kind. Makes me all nostalgic. It's just that Angry Robots doesn't fit the description. Not a fault of Angry Robots though, it's just what it is.

Happy to announce that the game is finished, and you can download the shareware version of the game for free today!!

Visit http://legacy.criminalcaterpillar.com to download the game from your 68K or PPC Mac.

If you like the game, and you want to purchase the full version, you can unlock the game by purchasing a serial number or you can buy a full boxed copy of the game, complete with floppy disk and colour manual! You will need to use a modern computer to do that, however!

Excited for people to try out the game and send me your feedback!

The last vintage remake game set I paid for never got here. Bought it from Polyplay.

Can you do digital delivery?

You never got your stuff from polyplay? Really? They sometimes take a while to carry out your order as it is a one-man-part-time-enterprise from what I get, but they usually deliver. I'd be interesting in that story, especially since they do publish all the new interactive fiction games for the Mac. Wanna share it with us?

I e-mailed them and am waiting for an answer. I recently had to move, so maybe they used my old address.

Then again, I am now sitting smack in the middle of one of "those neighborhoods" (you know what I mean).

And sometimes the culturally enriched mail delivery guys leave the package at the doorstep - outside the door. Sometimes they don't deliver at all.

In each case they usually don't bother to ring or notify me in any other way. Maybe they just want to respect my privacy. Maybe ...

Dang, I've had good experience with polyplay, as I'm sure many others have.  I hate to hear you didn't get what you ordered and suspect Porch Pirates(tm) grabbed it.  (And were probably sorely disappointed in what they stole!).  Or address confusion, which isn't any solace.

Just go ahead and contact the guy at poly play. He might have gotten your parcel and be able to send it over once again.

On a back to topic note ...

Angry Robots has been released! Finally a new game fodder for our 68k & PPC System 7 machines that is NO interactive fiction game. I salute Peter for his awesome efforts!

In the spirit of the 90's, it has been released as shareware. Check out the old browser compatible website that now has a download!

Thanks everyone! Yes, the shareware version is free to download on the website, and if you want to purchase a code to unlock the full version, you can do that on the website, without the need for any shipping. If a physical boxed version of the game is more your style, I ship worldwide!

So, a German translation of Angry Robots is now available for download from the official website with a French one coming soon as well. Peter is looking for more translators, so if you feel there should be e.g. a Spanish or Italian version as well, go contact him.

Angry Robots itself is really fun. If you haven't tried it and feel like you'd love some authentic early 90's style gaming on your Mac, give this a try. It's shareware, the first 10 levels are free to play and give you a good idea. @Nightingale has done a great job with this one :-)

Cool game - haven't had this much fun on a vintage Mac in quite a long time!
