With a bit more preparation I could have gone for another couple of weeks, especially if using a PPC machine.
But at the end of the month I would have had a problem with online banking!

In day to day use, I think the biggest issue for me was lack of HFS+ support. Booting into 7.x and seeing the Where have all my files gone? message was a bit annoying. In the future I don't think I will use HFS+ on any machines that can run system 7.
You can always access files on another machine via Appleshare of course, regardless of the format. Also do this to access USB drives.

I'm pretty sure that someone on 68kMLA got HFS Extended working on 7.6, would have been a year or two ago.

Knezzen here actually got it working too and he was planning on assembling a System 7.6 with HFS+ support for S7T. What's the status, Knezzen?

There ought to be a thread on this somewhere around here about this ...

HFS+ with 7.6 works fine on my 8600 and the speed difference is really noticeable between HFS and HFS+ on this machine. Yeah, I'm working on a modified official installer for 7.6.1 with all the latest updates bundled, so you don't need to install a thousand things afterwards.

Should be released soon perhaps :D

I'm loving how our amazing vintage Mac tinkerers have been able to  narrow the gap between Mac OS 8.1 and 7.6.1! HFS+ is really a great feat! Thanks for your efforts, Knezzen :D
