That might be an excellent solution for Zach, @cballero. Didn't you put some work into ready-made images of Basilisk II for exactly such a purpose at the beginning of the covid pandemic? |

@Zach - Please keep in mind that the Android port of Basilisk-II is ancient and no longer being maintained. If you have a tablet and its not older than 3 years you'd be better off installing Debian or another lightweight Linux on it and run B-II from there. But if not then Basilisk-II from the Playstore is so undemanding, that it works on almost anything with "Android" in the product description.

maybe i’ll try to make bas II work in pc but i need to know how i’m thinking to work with system 7.1 yk that funky “7” box art one and why not system 7.1 Pro

Yep  and using it right now  But 68040 is spot on, that Android port's really old, so the PC port may indeed be easier (and newer) especially since you have that ready to go!

the university of columbia offers prebuilt versions of macintosh system 7 (basilisk ii) and sheepshaver, go to http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/macos9win.html (they offer "macos9" and "macsys761" on this page)

He meant I had a drive image with various things preinstalled.. B-II on Android does require a lot of fiddling to get it going (mostly navigating the directories; those take a few tries for it to find itself)

I gave the software for both MacOS and Windows a try from the columbia.edu link above. All of the packages available for download are very well done. If you want to run an older MacOS in emulation on either Windows or new MacOS, these provide and excellent experience. I have mostly been using the OS 9 version built on SheepShaver. It runs in full screen mode very well on MacOS Monterey. I had been using the UTM image of OS 9 built on qemu, and I really think the SheepShaver version is nicer. It runs just as snappy and seems to intergrate with the host OS better. I have also been using OS 9 on a G4 Mac Mini, which does very well also. But the configuration for columbia.edu is just fine, so I will be able to go back to Morph OS on the mini.
