Hi guys,

I’ll be looking to sell on my SE/30 network card and transceiver in the new year as i have just purchased an accelerator/network combo. This is a direct SE/30 PDS card with back plane duel AUI and Coaxial connector on the back. Hence the transceiver RJ45 adapter. This is an early circa 1991-93 10base card.
I can’t remember the make off the top of head. Until i open it up and take photos. All i know my se/30 has worked just fine online since i got it online some 6 years ago. Took a while!!!

I don’t believe it’s SE compatible I’m afraid even though it would fit, the pds slots aren’t compatible between the two so this is only for an SE/30

i’m not looking to make lots of money from it as i was lucky enough to get it for free as it was already in my SE/30 when I brought it 7 years ago for £60. But i am looking to buy a SCSI2SD or swap the card for one. I thought i’d pop it on here first and if no one is interested i’ll put it on ebay. Let me know if anyone is interested. It wouldn’t be until after Christmas mind as the other cards haven’t arrived yet.

Neal

A pity it doesn't work in a SE, I would have loved to get it :-)

Thumbs up for offering it for a good price to a fellow S7Ter. There's just so many scalpers in retro computing these days who buy rare stuff like that and try to resell it for insane prices on ebay. Good thing it gets into the hands of someone appreciating and using (!) it,

Theo said the pds slots are configured differently even if the socket are the same. I don’t know for sure myself. There is an se with network card on ebay for £200 at the moment.

Theo did me a great deal on accelerator and nic so the least i could do is sell on my nic for a reasonable price to an enthusiast rather than a speculator. I’ll put it up here first, if no one wants it then I’ll put it up for a silly price on ebay so i can buy the scsi2sd i want :)

Can you get us the model and manufacturer when you have the time, please? We might be able to find out for sure if it works in a SE or not.

I’m afraid Theo is right. The pds slot on an SE is a 96 pin 16-bit bus, in an SE/30’s pds slot is 120 pin to allow 32-Bit direct access so my network card wouldn’t work on an SE.

Ah well, too bad. Anyway, thank you for checking! I'm sure there'll be a SE/30 owner who will really appreciate it :-)
