I am so pumped up by my tubes that I'd like to make some screenshots and post them on the Net.

So is there any way to do that on S7T?

Sure. For sharing pics please use the Macintosh Garden image uploader.

Ideally and for backwards compatibility's sake, don't embed 2000x2000px png files, please ;-)

Shift command 4 starts a screen shot where you use the mouse to draw a rectangle around the area you wish to capture. I think Shift Comman 5(?) captures the whole screen, and shift command 6 captures the active window.

I do not have excellent memory, but I am pretty sure I am close. It is easy enough to try out the variations of shift command and number keys. :)

Close :) Shift-Cmd-3 for the whole screen. Shift-cmd-4 for a selected area.
If Shift-Cmd-4 then click on an item on the desktop, like a window, it will take the selected item.
And... just found out Shift-Cmd-6 makes a screenshot of the Touch Bar on modern MBPs :D

He's using a modern Mac! Get some wood, light the fire! We have a heretic! :-D

Joke aside, what I'm not sure is what 68040 was looking for? How to take screenshots on Mac OS? Or how to post those on the S7T forums? (that's how I understood the question)

I'm using both Sir ! Or rather I try... I type this on a MBP 16", and I'm trying to fix a PB180c that constantly freezes, all at the same time ... That is why I can't manage... :D
Yes I think @68040 was asking about how to post screenshot here. Just using <img> </img> maybe ?

... Well tried html and BBcode, but no joy :/

<img src="http://images.macintosh.garden/2022/05/15/Classic-Pi-150522.jpg">

Bolkonskij will tell us the magic for doing that :)
But seem to remember he told me already some time ago you can't post images directly on the forum, only links to images.

Yes, we deactivated direct embedding of images for retro compatibility - sorry! All images will show up as a direct link nonetheless to avoid img wars killing off older browsers.

Your best bet is to upload them to the Garden Image hosting and then paste the URL to here.

We use BBcode otherwise.

the IMG tag attempted here (and a good number of others) does work on the MG though ;)

I wonder if it would make sense (or if its even doable) to have a user setting on the forums that can take image links and toggle them on and off for those who do use more modern 68k browsers? :)

Though there is no embedding, perhaps you can redirect to the image hosting site (clicking the link below will open the screenshot in another page).

Here's that Classic Pi screenshot

Note: revontulet.org is the now the image hosting site link.

Syntax used:

[url=http:\\revontulet.org\2022\05\15\Classic-Pi-150522.jpg]Here's that Classic Pi screenshot[\url]
