If you could please use paragraphs and punctuation, it'll be a lot easier to understand what the problem is and it'll be easier for us to help you.

First - you  mention your ROM/Cache card doesn't work. What exactly is the error message?

Second - does the computer start without that ROM/Cache card?

Third - You do not want to use MacTCP on anything System 7 PowerPC. Use Open Transport 1.3 instead. What's the error when you try to install Open Transport 1.3?

Sorry to hear of your problems with OpenTransport on the Performa 6220CD. That was unfortunately a hardware defect in the cache card. Apple did a recall on the model and it was covered under an Apple repair program. Since your does not work with OpenTransport it is most likely a unit that was never returned for repair. And from what I understand OpenTransport will just not work on the machine you have.

The message you are receiving it return the unit to Apple would be correct, as the only fix was possible through the Apple repair program.

You don't have a DNS defined, so naturally the "unable to locate host" error is expected.

Try setting a public DNS server, like 8.8.8.8 or your router IP and try again.

OpenTransport did not work on the Performa 6200 or 6300 series computer when they initially shipped from Apple.  Apple did have a repair program setup and would repair the problem, which consisted of replacing the ROM with and updated version. This fix generally worked.

However a side effect of the ROM replacement was that the computer was slowed down. Since the internet was not as important then as it is now many people did not take advantage of this program. The error message generated would usually indicate a problem with the cache card. This error is spurious and neither replacing the cache card nor removing the card will help with getting OpenTransport to work.

In order for OpenTransport to work on a Perfora 62xx or 63xx (this is also true for the 52xx and 53xx machines) you will need to have replacement ROMs and use OpenTransport 1.1.1

And you tried to install OpenTransport that we have here on S7T?
Can you access something with an IP directly, like your router (http://192.168.1.1)?
