I need a lightweight image viewer. I have opened some images successfully with simple text but they open in full size and can't be scaled down. Is there a simple, lightweight image viewer out there?

Just tried Graphic Converter 4. When I open tiff files, the colors are inverted. Why?

Was a registered Graphic Converter user back in the day. Loved it and still use v4.09 on my 8600 for fast image editing. (I finish the second pic by the time Photoshop 5.5 started up ...)

I know that it can handle .tiff files, even though its strength its clearly more with the web formats (jpg, gif, png etc.). What happens when you open the file and then pick (from the menu) Picture -> Invert. Do colors go back to normal?

Quicktime does display most images fine too (though not sure about tiff files). Do you want the ability to edit these files or really just view them?

If the latter, you might want to give iView Multimedia a try. I do not know if it supports tiff, though. But it's ideal if e.g. you have a folder full of artworks and just want to be able to go through them to pick the right one.

You can't get much more lightweight than Shomi.
Keep an alias on the desktop, for quick drag and drop viewing.
It automatically fits to the screen.
Shareware, but the website no longer works.

JPEGView is another good lightweight option that can open more than JPEGs.
Postcardware..

Good suggestions @ovalking! Now you have the choice, @Syntho :-)

Let us know what works for you and why. I for one am interested.

I went into the settings and didn't see too much that looked like it would get them back to normal, so one by one I turned them on/off and "verify color table integrity" was the one that got it to work. Not sure what that is, but now it isn't inverted.
