Hi everyone! Happy to be here! I do, however, have a confession to make. I don't have anything that runs System 7 . But, I'm working on it! I've only gotten into collecting Macintoshes recently. I got a nice iMac G3 about 2 months ago and I'm hooked on the classic system software. I'm barely touching my modern computer anymore. My friends say I'm crazy and honestly I think they might be right. But I'm having a lot of fun and I suppose that's what matters.I do have a website called Chocolate3.net that I'm trying to make available through standard HTTP. I'm not incredibly tech savvy so it's a process. Anyways, I'm happy to be here! Syd |

Howdy Syd - welcome to our friendly little community! Well, nobody's perfect but you can still get yourself a wonderful System 7 Mac to enjoy the purest form of Mac OS ;-) Did you use Mac OS back in the 90s or has this been your first contact with the classic Mac OS? And hey, I know exactly what you mean. When I come home, I usually power on my Power Mac 8600 (which I'm writing this on) and hardly touch my Mac Pro or MDD. Simply because it still has old time charme of when computing was exciting & fun. As for making your website System 7 Mac compatible, we've got some good links on HTML 3.2 authoring in our "links that work on System 7" section. Might help to look up on how to create table layouts. For now, have fun exploring the wonderful world of Mac OS and join the discussions!

Welcome! ![]() The Mac OS is addictive for sure! And if you're into audio and music, it definitely caters to audio editing, especially on PowerPC-based Macs. Simple HTML and regular HTTP and JavaScript are the two elements you need for old-school websites to work on older Macs (and PCs).

Hey there Syd - a hearty welcome to you! You know, I think of classic Macs like others think of classic cars. There may be an element of nostalgia, or even love, in having one, or it could just be about the fun of something you enjoy and the lure of something that scratches a particular itch. Glad you've chosen to share your newfound experience here. Cheers!
