Hibernated 2 is in the works. It's due out sometime in mid 2022. I've pre-ordered the Mac version of it already, despite my trouble finishing the first one. ;-) (need to try again)

There has also been a few bugfixes since the physical releases were shipped, though for Mac users they just seem to involve typo fixes.

Conngrats! Finally someone else buying it with the intention to actually play it. :-) Please post your progress / impression. I'm still stuck and could use some help with a certain puzzle :-) haven't tried it in weeks though.

Got my box delivered today and saw that its a Floppy Disk only delivery.

I run Basilisk II of an Android tablet and don't even have a floppy disk drive - much less a Mac compatible one. :o

For some bizarre reason I had expected a CD-ROM, I mean the (high) price tag should most certainly call for that.

Woah, check the box again. There ought to be a SD card with the game on it among all the merchandise!

Also, floppy disks used to be much more expensive to produce than (cheaper) CD-ROMs. That likely hasn't changed. Loved it to put a "new" floppy disk into my IIci :)

The box says "Flopy Disk" on the outside and I fear once I break the seal its gonna be "finders keepers".

Be mean! Break the seal, rip it apart mercilessly! ;-)

On my version the blue label on the front says

"Apple Macintosh"
"3,5" Diskette"

It does, however, also contain a small white plastic case with an SD card and all game files.

I think all versions of the game are identical and the only thing that makes them "Macintosh" or "C64" is the actual floppy disk inside which differ from version to version.

I did the dare and what shall I say: The package does contain a 3.5" floppy *and* a memory stick.

I think they went a bit too vintage in their box design and didn't want to mention any tech not from the 1990's on it.

I have the bizarre experience of being unable to read the content of the SD card on my Linux PC. No matter what card reader I try I can't even manage to see the card via lsblk or dmesg.

In any other case I'd suspect a fraudulent card but now I just want to make sure there isn't a "normal" explanation for this.

Perhaps a foolish suggestion to one who uses both Classic Mac and Linux, but do you have Linux setup to read hfs and hfs+ disks?

Nothing foolish about it. I run B-II on Debian ARM64 Linx and yes, I have the hfs and hfs+ kernel modules installed.

But for the SD card I used a regular Intel Laptop.

For me the game is always getting the hardware working. After that it is just fantasy, close my eyes, shoot the bad guys, slay the dragon and get the girl. Now a real game would be us all getting together at the local pub sipping on a favorite beverage at the pool table talking about running B-II on Debian on ARM 64 hardware.

Debian 64 powers my NextCloud server on my Pi 3B+. I have never had good luck with a ThinkPad carder working on anything other than Windows. I just use a cheap USB card reader to use my Thinkpad X230 when using on open source OS whenever I need to use an SD Card. I never paid any attention to SD cards until I got a PI and I quickly found the Thinkpad's card reader was not very good.

I had to wip out R-Studio - my data recovery suite - to be able to retrieve the files from the SD card.

Somehow the partition and filesystem info got lost on that thing and that makes me wonder how cheap they bought those mem cards.  :O
