August 1st will see another commercial adventure released for 68k Macs by poly.play! (The Queen's Footsteps was the first in 2020). Hibernated Directory's Cut is an Infocom style interactive fiction game with a Sci-Fi setting. It'll be released in a professional quality box together with a lot of goodies for the price of 35 euros. The Story Have you ever dreamed about a journey far beyond the known regions of the universe? Close to Alpha Centauri, Olivia Lund is on the trail of one of mankind's greatest secrets and a thousand-year-old mystery. After nearly 20 years in hypersleep, she wakes up alone on her stranded ship, the Polaris-7. The artificial intelligence Io seems to be her only remaining friend now. The contents - 3.5" floppy disk - Cardboard box with slipcase (23 x 18.5 x 2.5 cm) - Mission patch - Developer's autograph card - MicroSD card including disk images and more - Manual (DIN A5, English) - Quick guide "How to Play Interactive Fiction" - Stickers - Poster (Din A3) Director's Cut? It's a complete rewrite of the original 2019 release by Stefan Vogt. Before it was available only for a handful of home computers (Amstrad CPC, C64, Amiga) but not the Mac. Thanks to porting it to Infocom's Z-machine standard and a rewrite, many more systems are now supported. The Director's Cut has a lot of additional narrative content and riddles and ironed out bugs. Like every so often, we Mac users get our games late, but we get the superior versions ;-) As someone who bought The Queen's Footsteps from poly.play and played all through it I'm really excited about this release and just pre-ordered it. I love the Infocom-style box. I think I might have to get this; it'll match well with my copies of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Leather Goddesses of Phobos.

haha, absolutely! (btw, welcome to the S7T forums, re4mat!) You might want to order The Queen's Footsteps boxed copy as well? It's only 25 euros extra and great interactive fiction too. Besides, the Macintosh version ranks #4 in sales right now (IIRC behind the PC, Amiga and C64) - we have to set a standard! I've also pre-ordered my copy of Hibernated this morning. Really looking forward to rip it open and play it!

I just preordered a copy as well! I'm a little worried about the way their site formatted my shipping address, though. Everything's all out-of-order for a US address. (Street name then number, as opposed to number then street name; postal code before the city and state, instead of after.) I just hope USPS is able to decipher it and deliver it to my address!

Has anyone of you who pre-ordered gotten a status update or shipping mail? I can see the game went from pre-order to available in the shop system on August 1st but I havent heard anything yet and wonder if that's just me or everyone else as well?

No idea, I never received any updates after paying for Queen's Footsteps when I ordered that, I got the receipt just in case, but one day it just appeared in my mail  I suspect it will be the same this time around, and who knows how many pre-orders they are processing

New info - Mac release has been postponed to October 1st. Not like we're not used to being served last as Macintosh gamers ;-)

Sent e-mail to the shop and also to the author of the game, asking for the whereabouts. It's OK if a hobbyist game release gets postponed, but at least keep folks who pre-ordered it informed. Will report in this thread as soon as I hear back.

IIRC it's a 68k application. So theoretically it should work. But who knows ...
