Just thought I should mention this one here because it's easy to miss - Mac Garden user cheesestraws uploaded Apple Macintosh Toolbox Programmer's Assistant. I'm delighted. Haven't had time to try it out yet but judging from the description and screenshot this is essentially a database for looking up the API Toolbox functions when programming Mac OS. Apple Macintosh Toolbox Programmer's Assistant So get rid of that Inside Macintosh PDF (or even book edition) and just lookup the functions on the very machine you code on. Neat one! I only knew of an older DA that held parts of Inside Macintosh but this one appears fairly complete. Will have a closer look, we may need to add this one to our software guide in the programming section :-) Anyone else excited? ![]() |

It does sound exciting ![]() But I know next to 0 about programming. The only thing remotely connected to MPW I used is ToolDeamon : https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/tooldaemon-25 (the page says for OS 8 to 9, but it runs perfect on System 7) Which is a telnet server for Classic Mac OS (the only one). One can interact with the server via MPW shell commands, and launch apps, applescripts, move or delete things... pretty cool. But you must know it already ![]() Remember using it with Applescript to make sreenshots remotely.
