Spare yourself the disappointment. It renders in Classilla on OS 9 but margins / paddings are off. Page itself seems to rely on JavaScript for functionality. I think I know who's behind the mac attic page - a fellow Mac OS user named Greystash. His current page is here: http://mac-classic.com/

That one renders fine on older browers too and is a nice bookmark.

Another nice one I ran into today (actually someone uploaded a video to Cornica and placed a reference to it in the readme)

http://squaresoft.thegia.com/

A fanpage from 1996 for the Square RPG video games. Website even features sound. :-)

Here's one I hadn't seen before and it's been around for years: myoldmac.net.

Seems really nice and very classic Mac OS friendly (English and German) the FAQ pages, very helpful.

Currently looking through the site and posting here today, using iCab on Mac OS 7.6.1

There's a little bit of broken javascript, but on the whole myoldmac works well in iCab

This page is very cool: the myoldmac CCCCC page
- the Classic Computer Collector's Code of Conduct (CCCCC) :)

Nice little website, I don't recall visiting before either (I may have seen the site link and thought it was a different site I had seen before! ;))

Nice page on that site, the ideas on that CCCCC page were basically my college thesis in a nutshell! lol :D

Nice read about Jef Raskin:
He is credited with significantly advancing the design of user interfaces, which in the early 1980s were largely text-based and required users to memorize complex commands. Raskin convinced his peers at Apple that to reach a wider audience, the Macintosh needed an interface that was elegant and easy to use.

Quote Jef Raskin:
"Up to that time, at Apple and most other manufacturers, the concept was to provide the latest and most powerful hardware, and let the users and third-party software vendors figure out how to make it usable," he wrote later on his Web site.

That approach was exactly what Jack Tramiel adhered to at Commodore and Atari and what IBM did with the PC. And for me it was the prime reason why the Amiga - despite its vastly superior hardware - never had a chance to conquer the realm.

For the end user every piece of HW is only as good as the software that runs on it. And it was that User Interface part that distinguished the Mac from all its competitors.

Not sure if this one works with System 7, but it does operate w/o SSL or Java crap.

Yes, it works pretty well and is a great example for how concise, content-driven web design we once used to had vs. the stuff they force developers to serve today ...

And yes, Raskin was a pretty amazing character that sadly got sidelined by his Steveness. Partly, from what I read, because he was a dominant figure himself and wouldn't back down when Steve had "his moments" - which inevitably led to a power struggle that Jef could only lose.

R.I.P Jef! You were a truly gifted engineer and we wouldn't have the Mac OS without your pioneering work!

So, here's a neat website I found about one of my favorite Mac games, a clone of the arcade game Joust called Glypha:

(note that it does require a https-capable OS/web browser combo, even though originally it was http-only)
