hahahahahhahaha!!!

Thanks cballera! god no, no 1979 website stuff here, the SE/30 is 1989 you know! this will be some high tech b&W web design stuff going down :) I HOPE!!

You're spot on, it's not actually the website thats the the important thing for me it's the building it on the old hardware and software. It will be a huge learning curve and a challenge but the fun part....! learning it's quirks and limitations and when you add more pages for these old machines to roam it's no bad thing at all :)

Just wait till you get going with it! Then you'll really laugh (and cry!!) :D

Each browser had its own way of rendering HTML pages back then, so some things didn't work on some, other things only worked on others! :o

It really was the wild west of web authoring, so for that reason, many webmasters kept things bare-bones and simple (that's what we were called back then, we were the nerdy ninjas of web code, lol) :)

The main goal is to experiment, make and break things, but most importantly, make sure to have fun doing it! ;)

Yes exactly, I’m sure in reality it’ll be barebones and be on a constant refinement for many months to come when i get more confidence and skills. Last time i built a website was in 2009 using iWorks on my then MacMini (leopard i think).  Other than that only one of those drag and drop template ones wix of something like that. I’m sure they’ll be tears lol

I'm back from holiday now so the project begins although just setting up my email first then looking into how to start as I have another 1.5 weeks off work off work so it seems the ideal time to get going with my mini project.

Here's a cool old browser website I found (I hope I'm not posting something someone else already found!)

http://philzimmermann.com/EN/background/index.html

Pretty cool stuff! (I was actually hunting for all the PGPfone installs!!) lol ;)

Yes. very interesting, very good one. Reading the letters on that page is kind of depressing, as you can tell that the predictions from the late 90's ("government and powerful will use tech to crush those against them") turned out to be become true.

Thanks for sharing!

This website was just posted in the MG, and it's really 'the bomb'! :o

http://discmaster.textfiles.com/

It's a really cool retro-browser-friendly version of a lot of stuff from the archive.org! ;) It's a must-see and use site for our Macs!!! :D

Yes, deactivate JavaScript in the preferences and the script errors should go away as it doesn't try to execute it anymore. Should give some more speed browsing.

thank you but the problem is the IE4 pref screen is bigger than the SE/30 screen so I can't deactivate/active/Yes/No changes. really annoying :(

Yes, as a former owner of a Mac LC with a 12" monitor I feel with you :D

You could try to see if DragAnyWindow solves your troubles?

http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/draganywindow

It allows you to move "non-draggable" windows.

lol, spoken like a true old-school Mac user, Neal!! :D

Here's another cute Mac-themed site I just stumbled upon online but I'm not sure how friendly it is on Classic Macs, even being http

http://www.mac-attic.com/

This little Mac site has a ton of Easter eggs too! ;) see how many you can spot, I found a bunch of them!! 8) (usual disclaimer: even as a http site, this online Classic Mac may need a modern browser for it to fully function as some of the GUI tricks are pretty slick)
