(Hope i'm posting this in the right section) Hello everyone, was trying to use my old MacSE the other day but unfortunately the hard disk is completely dead, it still has a working floppy drive but the software I have is very limited. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in how to get it up and running again in this day and age For instance if anyone knows anywhere or anyone that's willing to make SDcard replacements like this for people: http://duxbridge.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/creating-ssd-for-my-macintosh-se30/ Just looking for a way of acquiring a replacement storage method pre installed with system 6.0.8 (or 7) and some software |

You should try an external SCSI drive. It should boot on a Zip drive, probably even without drivers. I remember booting Mac Pluses with a Zip. My SE boots fine on Zip's as well but I know it has Iomega driver installed. At least, that's how I was able to test System 7 on my SE without messing up the internal hard drive ;-) If you can find a replacement internal SCSI drive, that's cool, but they are rare…
