I have a 7300 with a Dual-boot drive with 9.1 and 7.6.1 currently. OK- so I understand the USB and Firewire on this card won't work in 7.6. They could potentially work when booted in OS 9. I was thinking about getting the Trio and wonder if the IDE on this card would work on 7.6. That is the only desired function in 7.6. Anyone tried the above? Thanks Ted |

You should be able to use the IDE functionality with any Mac that has a PCI slot. Only the usb and firewire are limited by software since they require drivers to operate properly. Obviously, the IDE has to be recognized in order for an OS to even load, so this function of the card has no software/OS limitation. It would only be limited by the firmware of your mainboard and the card was designed to be compatible with old-world Macs. I'm not aware of any Macs that won't recognize the card and I've tried it with several old beige models.
