Hey gang, I stumbled upon this site and I can't believe I've never found it before! My first experience with the Macintosh was in the fall of 1995. My middle school had a collection of LC 580s running System 7, and I was blown away! At home we were using Deskmate (on an older machine that I guess we kept around for giggles) and Windows 3.1, so the awesomeness of System 7 just made me giddy. Sadly, my high school was a different story, as it had been infected with Windows '98/Me/XP during my tenure (99-03). I didn't use a Mac again until my sophomore year in college. Panther was the OS of the time, and I rediscovered the joy I felt in middle school. At that point, I went Mac and never looked back. The Macs I've owned are: iMac G5 (first generation) - 1/2005 thru 2/2009 PowerMac G5 Quad - 8/2007 thru Present (I'll be putting it up on eBay in the near future, though.) PowerBook Unibody (I HATE the "MacBook Pro" moniker ) - 2/2009I've had a longing to revisit my System 7 days since I got my iMac G5. My attempts at emulation (BasiliskII and mini vMac) have been frustrating, so I'm on the lookout for a System 7 PowerBook for cheap. Anyway, I'm ecstatic over finding this site, and I can't wait to get all nostalgic... System 7 style! |
