I'm sure lots of old authentic Apple-branded SCSI drives can be had at the LEM Swaplist: http://lowendmac.com/lists/swap.html I myself bought two 10 GB Seagate Barracudas on Ebay for like $10, and then bought two adapters because of the incompatible pins, and they've worked fine for about six years now even with the standard unmodified Apple Disk Utility. |

Guys, It seems that the problem was not the Hard Drive but the PRAM battery. The battery I had in my 6100/66 had a little juice left. After some googling it turn out the 6100 has some bad behaviour when it comes to low pram batteries. So I'm going to blame it on that . Today it even refused to show anything on screen while the hd booted up normally I could here the warning signal that tells me my clock isn't set right.
