Hey Guys...

So... I've been searching around ebay lately and have been looking to buy appleshare ip. Only on problem, all the results are appleshare ip 6.3 and later, witch don't work on mac os 7.6.1.

I've been trying out MacHTTP but it seems to be a bit to unsophisticated.

Can Anyone point me to an alternative for AppleShare IP, or at least a place where I can get version 5.0 of this software?

Pleeeeease?

I thought AppleShare IP was a complete system and did not need to run on top of a standard Mac OS Install. If your system supports it you could run the latest version 6.3.3(?).

An install of BSD or a PPC version of Linux with NetaTalk services installed would provide the same functionality.

AppleShare IP runs on top of Mac OS. It's an extremely feature-rich and robust server suite for email, FTP, HTTP, email, and AFP. System 7 Today was served from an AppleShare IP server until early 2009.

I've been looking for ASIP 5 for awhile, too.  Haven't had much luck.

By the way, this is a rather "low volume" message board, two hours between posts won't help; as many users of this board only log on every few days at the best.

Well everybody i've decided that I had to upgrade my os, so I upgraded to mac os 8.6 sorry but it's the only way I can run AppleShare IP 6.3. I'll still be using S7T for support on my mac because other sites don't support me as good as this one.

A well...

Thanks Alot :-)
