Hello all, What a great website this is! I'm trying to install System 7.1 back into my Color Classic, but the floppy drive doesn't work anymore (can't read, write or initialize FDs). I downloaded the 7.1 image available here and also the Stuffit 5.5 available ehere, but when I try to unstuff the image file, Alladin sits there and the progress bar takes aaaaages to move a fraction of an inch. I suspect there's something wrong with that archive. Anybody havinf the same problem? Can someone provide me with a new System 7.1 image (I have the original disks). I'll be glad to help anybody with any needs they might have. Many thanks, Marcio Pocciotti |

Hi all, This is what I did to resolve it: Downloaded the image file from the Software Guide link below to my Macbook Black; transfered to the Color Classic and expanded it (took more than 6 hours to do it on the CC). In parallel I created a CD on the Macbook Black on Toast hoping I could boot the CC with it (I have an external Apple CDROM). Didn't work. It created the HFS CD all right, but couldn't boot from it. Then I tried the floppy again and IT WORKED! I did nothing, really. After a long silence it started to work on its own and I could at least format the HD and transfer a 7.1 System Folder to it. Then I mounted the Disk Images from the CD on the Desktop and it installed to the HD. I'm a happy user of the original System that came with my CC. Cheers to all, Marcio
