I have an iMac w/Tiger and connect via the Chooser with no problem. I just upgraded by Macbook to Leopard and now my Powerbook 1400c/166 finds the macbook but is only offered guest access. Then when I try to connect the chooser crashes with a Type 1 error.

Using OT 1.3 and Appleshare 3.8.3

Since I posted last night I've upgraded to Appleshare 3.8.6 which fixed the guest access thing but I still get the crash with Type 1 error. I then upgraded to Appleshare 3.8.8 with no change. Did anyone solve this Type 1 error problem?

My PB 1400 has the same trouble. My PB 3400 doesn't. It may be 1400-specific.

Let me check and see if the problem goes away when I switch to Mac OS 8.6 on the 1400.

Yeah, for now I've given up on AppleTalk and have just enabled the FTP server in OS X and am using Fetch to transfer files.
