Hello,
I've been a user of Macs since the Mac Plus days when my mom was able to bring the Mac Plus home from the school for long weekends and holidays.  But actually before then it was the Apple IIe, so I guess I can say I'm a long time Apple user.

My first Macintosh of my own was a Macintosh Classic II that I got for university.  I still have the little guy, however it is doing a plaid screen on start-up and people are telling me that a capacitor is going on it and needs to be replaced.  Until then, I have a Macintosh Color Classic that I was given by a family friend that has since moved on to the PC.  Both of these Macs are maxed out and the Classic II even has an FPU card.  I was thinking of putting it into the CC, but I am afraid to pry the chip out of the FPU daughter card without damaging a pin or something.  So I'll leave it there for now.  I would really love to get a Sonnet Presto Plus for the Color Classic, but I think my chances now are slim.

My next computer that I got was an LC 475 that I bought from a guy when we still had Computer City stores here in Canada.  That Mac even survived a fire that I had in my room when I moved back home.  A kid my mom was looking for found a candle lighter and decided to play with it and light my clothes basket on fire.  Lost my bed, but amazingly the computer on the other side of the room survived.  Then for a short period of time I had a Quadra 605 and an LC II, all of these LC models have since gone on to other places.  I wish I still had the LC 475, because it had an Apple IIe card installed.  Printers were Stylewriters II and 1200, lost the 1200 too, wish I had that.  Still have a couple II's.  I have a SyQuest EZ135 drive, and it does me well but now working at the university has produced a bunch of nice finds, like this SyQuest ezFlyer230!  It reads my 135 disks and now I have one 230 cartridge to add to my 13 EZ135 cartridges.  Unfortunately I think cartridge 13 was a victim of the fire and doesn't want to mount.

My first foray into the PPC world was my TiBook G4/500, (first model) and I had everything go wrong with that thing that could have went wrong.  If they would have not replaced the machine with a TiBook 550, the only things that would have been original on that thing would have been the keyboard and the hard drive.  My second computer was an iBook G4 (the last model) and now I'm looking at a MacBook Pro 15" though I really wish it still had the ExpressCard.

Other vintage Macs that have played visits to my domain have been a G3 Molar (the All-in-one).  Heavy beast.  Some iMacs, Bondai, Grapecicle, and Booberry (2x), eMacs (700MHz 2x, 1GHz).... does anyone want a 700MHz eMac?, 3 iBook G3s that I hope to use for parts and create at least one or two working Macs for gifts, a Dual Mirror G4 PowerMac that went back to my old office, and oh and one SuperMac C600, does anyone have a Sonnet Crescendo L2 CPU upgrade they want to send my way?

Anyhow, I just got my Colo(u)r Classic resurrected (and no, don't want to do a Tacky or Mystic as I want to keep it in original working order, however I do have an LC580 logic board outside incase I ever change my mind.)  Can I swap in a LC575 board and still go back to my CC board without any modifications to my CC?  I'd like that.

Let's see what else, oh gosh, well here goes, I was the President of the Computer Club in my High School.  ;)  But by then, being a geek was just starting to get cool.  Later on as a side job I was a computer trainer and technician for Macs and now I'm an Information Architect at a university.

I've got a bunch of software on disks and discs to go through and if I pull up anything I know will be useful to people, I will hope to share.

I do have one problem that I will be posting elsewhere in the forums, but it has to do with the fact that when I do an AppleShare IP connection and try to mount a sharepoint from my eMac running 10.5.8, my CC freezes every time when I click connect and it doesn't matter if I use the encrypted or not.  I am running OT 1.3 and AppleShare 3.8.3 as this web site suggests on Mac OS 7.6.1.

Thanks for reading and hope to share with you all soon.
