Hello all, I am looking to use a Classic to graphically log temperature accurately (resolution of ~.5 deg. C) and was wondering if there are any pre-made software suites with this function, or how to go about making my own software. I am competent with C and its flavours and can happily make the hardware associated with data logging. I hope someone out there can help! Many thanks, Tom |

Hello Tom, I have interfaced classic mac to hardware in the past using Hypercard and a device called AB I/O from a defunct organization called Beehive Technologies... I have also used older versions of Realbasic to control serial communications. I didn't do these on System 7 however and I don't know anything specific with regard to temperature probes... Probably the easiest option to find would be Hypercard with a serial XMCD and a temp probe with serial output. Goodluck!

I always used to drool over their stuff: http://www.vernier.com/legacy/ They still have equipment and software for Apple II's. The Mac stuff also used to be used with the Newtons/eMates, along with the eProbe software. HTH, Blessed Cheesemaker

The only best way for this would be to get an old copy of labview "G language" version 3 or 4 ie will run on system 7 for the mac. Daq Cards can be found in both pci and nubus on e-bay. as for the data logger, there are prewritten programs out their I can help with that. If you really want to get wild go with a GPIB box and card.
