Hi there, Would I be able to ask if someone could create me a bootable floppy image that has the tools required to format a non-Apple SCSI disk on it ? I've only a Linux box with a floppy drive in it (why oh why does my Mac Mini not have a floppy disks  ;-) which I can use to dd an image to a real floppy.Anyone able to help out ? Thanks! Mark |

Someone can no doubt be of assistance. Boot floppies were available for all MacOSes up through OS 8.6. And replacing the Drive Setup utility with a more universal utility is pretty straight forward. It would be helpful if you provided information about which system it is needed for and the target OS needed. And whether you need a DD (800K) or HD (1.44MB) disk. bill

Good point :-) Macintosh LC II Image I'd like is a 1.4MB one, I'll turn it into a real floppy disk via Linux. And I'll be putting on System 7.5.3 (the one avaialble from Apple) Disk a 50pin IBM 2.1GB thing (wooooh the sheer space!! :-) Thanks! Mark
