Netscape Communicator, download from this site, has a built in email client and works with appearance turned off. I do not know if it supports iMap. Eudora 4.33. It is available from the Eudora site (Qualcom). The download says it is an upgrade, but it runs in sponsored mode. Appearance must be turned on. I think it supports iMap. It also allows you to leave everything on the server, but selectively delete things fromthe server after download. Prior versions of Eudora run only in lite mode, but may or may not support iMap. These early versions are very quick.

I used the Netscape Communicator from this site for e-mail last summer on 7.6.1. I was actually pretty suprised... not only does it support IMAP, but it supports SSL/TLS as well.

I guess I am surprised but I shouldn't be. When I was searching around for info to optimize the browser parts of the program, I found a lot of history to it. When it came out it was considered enterprise class, so I guess it had all of the bells and whistles of the day.
