Since there's a section for that very purpose.. why not? :)

I'm from Valcourt. That's in the Eastern Townships. Québec. Canada? Ah, I knew you'd know the place. ;)

I never really used System 7 and I'm actually a fairly new Macintosh user. Here's how Apple got a place in my life:

Back in the late 80's, I got my first computer: a Commodore 64. Got GEOS on it a one time and loved the thing.

Then, early 90's, I got an IBM PS/1, because for some reason, I believed at the time that an actual IBM would be better than a clone. And the thing came with the famous DOS/Windows 3.1 combo. Before buying, I did
ask about that new IBM OS called OS/2 but ended (not knowing any better) with the MS OS.

Mid 90's, I got myself a copy of OS/2 2.11. Toyed around a bit with it. Good stuff. Had to go buy OS/2 Warp.

'putered along happily, ignoring that new-fangled DOS estension called Windows 95 as much as possible. But thing being what they are, OS/2 was quickly losing speed. But hey, there was that new Linux thing around now.

So there I was, triple-booting OS/2, Linux and Windows 98. Then just dual-booting Linux and Windows XP.

Actually, XP is the very first MS OS that I didn't hate. Not bad. And Linux was only getting better with time.

But some day, two years ago, I bought a used PowerBook (a 1400c/133) because I wanted to know that Macintosh thing better.

It had Mac OS 9 installed. This thing is slow, but hey, now there is an interesting UI.

Upgraded the thing to Mac OS 8.6. Better. And did I mention the UI is great?

So there I was with my main xUbuntu / XP PC with a powerbook on the side, reading on the net about Apple and that OS X thing they now have...

Now that looks interesting. And my PC is getting old. And wait.. what is that Mac Mini box? Is it actually that small? No kidding!

So what do you know, I end up with a Core 2 duo Mini, sporting Leopard.

Here I must say, Mac OS X Leopard is the very best OS I ever seen in my geeky life. I mean, I love it! It's a masterpiece.

So what was bound to happen happened... I ditched the PC and replaced it with a MacBook. :)

I got to read everything I could find about Apple's history and one day ended on system7today.com.

So here I am, planning on installing System 7.6 on the powerbook. Hello. :)

That last line kinda saves the whole post. How many thousand time did I use the word "thing"?

I am so not an English writer. :)
