Decided to join here, as I have spent much time in my childhood with older Macintoshes. My first actual computer was some kind of PC actually. It had only two floppy drives and no HD. All I did with it was playd Tetris. There was Elite too, but it failed to work. Then my next step was Mac. My mother brought it from her workplace. It was one of those "happy macs" you see when you boot an older mac - A block. It had 30Mb external HD which made a LOUD sound when operating. But I really was hooked. I had Civilazation, Monopoly, and Sim City Classic for it.Monopoly wasn't my fav, but I spent hours and days time to play Sim City and Civilization. All of those, of cource, in 1-bit/BW colors. ![]() Mean while I got Sega gaming consoles and started playing games made for those. But I returned to Mac again with Parforma 5200, the early stage for iMac. Now I could play Civilazation in colours. \o/ Later I got a Power Mac (9500 if i remember correctly). I ran Mac OS 8 and 9 on it, but those were very unstable OSes. System 7 has it's flaws but it works more smoothly than later OSes. Though i never have had OS X installed on any of my computers. And that's bacause I installed MkLinux on that Power Mac, which led me to buy PC-laptop and install Gentoo Linux on it. ![]() Nowdays i'm a Linux junkie, but I rescently Installed BasiliskII and I'm (kind of) back in the buziness. Good thing about using BasiliskII is that System 7 boot's blazinly fast. 2-3 secs to be little more precise. ![]() I'd install my System 7 on a real mac but for space saving in mind I use emulator on my laptop. I still have my Power Mac at my friend place (he collects old hardware, so it's safe there), but I think it has some hardware damage and does not work propely. That was the small history between me and Macs and a "Hello world" to you all. |

Is nice to see screenshots of System 7 being used. There is no post editing. Also there is no image embedding.
