Any PCI card based on the RTL8169S series chip (including RTL8169SC) will give your PCI Power Mac running OS 7.6.1 gigabit ethernet! All of these cards work with this driver! The cards are incredibly cheap! I bought one, and it works great in my Power Macintosh 8500 on Mac OS 7.6.1! |

hm. tried it and it does sort of work, but it´s painfully slow e.g. copying files over a tcp/ip network with my macbook. much slower as the build in ethernet in my 7600 for example and much much slower than an asante 10/100 card i tried. the realtek card is a 8169 according to the system profiler and according to the readme that came along with it it´s wether a 8169sc or 8169scl. on the card itself i couldn´ find any hints i would be able to understand on what chip exactly it might use. i´m about to pull it out again, so any suggestion that would keep me from doing so would gratefully be appreciated.
