Anyone have any that they aren't using and might want to give to someone for free or real cheap? I have a 5260/100 all in one on System 7.6.1 and I am looking for a bit more space to fit more stuff. Thanx |

My suggestion would be to actually upgrade the internal, given that IDE drives are dirt cheap these days, and they'll be quieter and more reliable than the scsi drives from that era.

The 5260 is a nice form factor, if a bit of a sluggish computer. The 5260 can use the motherboards of both the 5500 and 6500, which would be a big bump up in performance. Using a MB from a 6500 you could get up to a 300MHz 603. There are also G3 upgrades for the L2 slot in the 5500/6500. bill

Would that sort of drive work and how hard would it be to put in? I am not really a hardware person, just good with system and software related stuff though I have some basic knowledge

You or someone you know or someone on these fine boards wouldn't happen to have one they don't want? Also if anyone has any good cables (ADB) and maybe an ADB Mouse II (the teardrop) (I have the first one the boxy square shape and it would be nice to have a teardrop as well). I am trying to upgrade my computer as free or cheaply as possible.
