I like that it comes with a free account on System 7 Today. I might bid on it just so I can have two accounts. I think it might be fun conversing with myself on here. lol. Seriously though, why are you unwilling to ship to Canada? Shipping to Canada would most certainly be cheaper than shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. I seriously doubt that shipping to Canada would be much more than shipping to Michigan. Of course, I live on the Ontario/Michigan border so I could always zip across the border and pick it up from a post drop in Michigan. But that's probably too much of a hassle. Especially since I'm on the FBI's 10 most wanted list.

Hi Dan, I have been cruising Ebay for parts for my machines for a couple of years now and this is the most wonderful ad I have seen. I love the benchmarks and the reserved membership to S7T is a masterstroke. You should ship to Canada though: 1. We have always had to order out to get anything so Ebay does not daunt us in the least. 2. Our dollar is high now. There was for a while we were paying a 40% premium to buy stuff ... and we still bought it. Now we are at par ... or better some days.On top of that, with the NAFTA agreement we do not pay duties. 3. We have more eccentrics per capita that the states does. We can appreciate and be sold by such an add. We like neat stuff. 4. Think of us as really really nice Americans with bad hair ... From wearing a touque all the time :-)

I'm just not sure if my $60 flat rate would work for Canada. I suppose I can revise my item. I'm not really even sure exactly how to ship to Canada. I guess I'll revise my item if Canadians want it so bad.

Just charge them US Postal rates to Canada + an allowance for packing. I am not sure of the exact service that gives a tracking number. The last Item I bought was a Sonnet L2 Accellerator - Pretty Small. Shjipping was over $18.00 US. The item was US $25.00 The upside of US Postal service to Canada is there are no customs brokerage fees to us. If our fearless leaders do decide to examine the parcel, it is a $5.00 flat fee. I have had that happen a couple of times. Some of the couriers have outrageous fees. Chances are it will be US buyer, just because there are 10 times as many of you as there are of me. However, the point of the post was not to limit your market. We watch. We buy. Our money is good. Your Quadra is worth every dollar you can get for it ... and not a penny less.

It's better for the U.S. economy to allow Canadians to buy your stuff. It brings money into the U.S. economy that wouldn't otherwise be there. By allowing us crazy Canucks to buy your old stuff, you're helping to bring some of those Euro Dollars* back home. * A Euro Dollar is a greenback that is in circulation outside of the United States. So a Canadian in possession of a greenback is in possession of a Euro Dollar. Not to be confused with the Euro, which is the currency of the European Union. Don't ask me how I know this.

I'm not Canadian, but I will say that shipping to Canada is the easiest of all foreign nations. It wouldn't cost much more than shipping within the states, especially considering you're in Illinois which isn't relatively far from canada to begin with. If you know how much the Quadra weighs just go to USPS.com and plug it in and it'll tell you how much it will cost.

In fact I just checked.... everymac.com says the Quadra 900 weighs 36.8lbs on avg. I went to usps.com and put in 37lbs package to Canada and it said it will cost 65.50 which also includes insurance. Check it out for yourself.

So, depending on how much you were looking to "pad" the shipping fee, $70 to $75 would probably be a fair shipping rate to Canada. Of course, that's not to say that a Canadian will be the ultimate winner of the auction. But it certainly doesn't hurt to make your items available to Canadians. Unless, of course, you have some really warped sense of patriotism and feel that your Quadra 900 is such a prized item that it must remain in the hands of a fellow American. You know, for National Security reasons. Wouldn't want such advanced technology getting into the wrong hands after all, who knows might what happen? World War III, potentially. Boom! lol.

Ooops, I forgot to mention that I didn't "verify" the shipping estimate provided by p-amadeus. Truth of the matter is that to do so would be a waste of my time and energy. The accuracy of the information (Quadra 900 weight & USPS shiping rates) are of little consequence to me. ie. I'm neither shipping anything from the U.S. or having anything shipped to me from the U.S. at the present time. As such, I'm perfectly comfortable with building my case around information that may prove erroneous.

Hmmm. That e-bay listing shows two shipping charges ($60 and $75) Confusing; which is correct? I would love to have that but the shipping charges are a killer.

I am interested in your Quadra Dan, I just can't justify paying that much in shipping. I'm not terribly far from you as I live in Milwaukee. You ever make it to Chicago for any reason?

I'll be in Chicago the week of March 14 for spring break - I live in the Chicago area. Quote from: "mac2geezer" Hmmm. That e-bay listing shows two shipping charges ($60 and $75) Confusing; which is correct? They should all say $60 now.
