I don't know if anyone here is interested in programming their Macintosh computer, but I've stumbled across a couple of free books on the Internet that you might be interested in.   Each book is hosted by MacTech, publishers of MacTech Journal, and is available for free download from their website.

The first book is called A Hobbyist's Guide to Programming the Mac OS in C.   It is available in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF formats.   Sample code is included.

The second book is called A Hobbyist's Guide to Programming the Mac OS in Pascal.  It is available in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF formats.  Sample code is included.

For anyone interested in programming for Carbon, there is also a third book available.   You can find it pretty easily from the website and it only deals with the C programming language.

Here's a link to a webpage that contains some information and links to resources for folks interested in learning to program their Macintosh.   The information contained on the site is a bit outdated.  ie. There's little to nothing to do with OS X on this site.

Apple's Developer Connection site also contains a considerable amount of free resources for Macintosh programmers in the Legacy Documents section.  You can check it out by clicking below:
