i down loaded open transport expanded it copied it to the machine i wanted it on and started the installer.  the installer then asked to switch to install 1 which I can't.

 
i also tried to copy the 4 folders on to 4 floppy disk and when i put install 1 floppy in i got an error install original disk

so has any one else had problems?

I had the same problem.  Drove me nuts till I figured it out.

Don't un-stuff files on a Mac OS X computer.  It does weird things to the resource forks of classic apps.  Copy the OT 1.3 .sit file to the classic Mac, and un-stuff it there.  Should work fine

Oh yeah, that'll do it.  I didn't realize this was being unstuffed on Mac OS X.

I also unstuffed it in os x and yes it was driving me crazy.  I feel stupid but if you don't know what to do?##!?

I find that the main benefit of using Open Transport 1.3 under System 7.5.5 is that it drastically reduces Network Sockets errors when browsing the Web, especially when using Netscape 4.x.  Data transfer rates seem to improve a little, as well.  It's definitely worth installing.
