I've downloaded the MacOS 7.6.1 images (all 19 of them) from apple's older software website. I'm running OS 10.5 however, and have no idea how to join them together as one image that i could then burn to a CD to essentially create an OS 7.6.1 CD to install on my powermac 5500/220. any suggestions? thanks! |

Unless you uncovered a new area at old Apple Software Downloads what you downloaded was the 7.6.1 update. System 7.5.3 is the last complete system Apple has available for update. To use the images you need to mount them on the desktop of the machine to which you are installing. To create a CD of the images simply create a CD with the files on the CD. To use the images double click them. They will all mount to the desktop. Disk Image 1 will contain the installer. Double clicking the installer will start the install process. bill
