isn't it fun using system 7 on some of the later model ppc's ? It's quite fast. How do you find iCab's speed on your pb1400 ? |

I usually found iCab's performance quite lousy and unstable. You might like to keep iCab for when you need it, but for general use (viewing text and images basically) try Netscape 4.8 with CSS turned off. Yeah, definately. iCab is not the greatest, but it 'works' well enough. I like Netscape navagator 4.0.8 though. I dislike the entire Communicator package. Both fart-out on modern java-laden pages though.

Netscape Navigator 4.08 was released. The referenced link provides links to the Netscape archives, which unfortunately no longer work. A search through Netscape archives seems to indicated that only V 4.8 and newer are still available bill

The earliest versions of Carbon are compatible with Mac OS 8.1 I believe. That would explain that. I doubt System 7 compatibility... I vaguely remember trying. But this is swinging pretty far off topic. We can pick this up in a better suited folder. "Hello" is a pretty lousy topic to be talking in depth about something like this. EDIT: Actually, I'll just split it into it's own new topic. Carry on...

Oh... Opera version 5 will run down to the mid System 7's FWIW.
