I keep fighting with wireless driver issues on my 1400cs.. but I think I've found a way to get around all of that.. Have you ever seen those wireless gaming adapters for the Playstation 2 / xBox / Wii? they are nothing more than wireless bridge boxes that are configured through your web browser, the same as your wireless router.. Now, I can't verify that this will work, yet, but by my way of thinking, I don't see a reason why one of these units wouldn't work with ANY ethernet enabled device, including an old Mac. They do not require any drivers, and are not OS dependent.. As long as the computer has an ethernet connection, and a browser to configure the unit, then it should provide a connection to your wireless network. If anyone here has a wireless gaming adapter, how about trying it out on your Mac to see if I'm loosing my mind or not.. I'm pretty sure it will work.. Thanks!! ....................... Tommy |

I had a LinkSys Wireless Gaming Adapter - it was the most unreliable and infuriating thing ever. I ended up breaking it in anger.

Quote from: "Studio1031" I keep fighting with wireless driver issues on my 1400cs.. Kind of glorious idea of using the gamethingy for wireless, but for the 1400 it is better just to bite the bullet and buy an original orinoco pcmcia wlan card, as I did. Those are dirt cheap in ebay and the wavelan 6 driver is easier to configure than the wavelan 7, which work among others with the Dell card (I have one of these, got it before trying 761), but needs os 8.6. The driver 6/orig. Orinoco combo works up to os 9, incase a need arise. For wifi'ing a desktop running 761, you could try a bridge you'll find in the thread: "9600/1000"
