i have an old beige g3.  one day the hard drive failed. so i got another one.  my nightmare began.  the fard drive was an ata133 which the ide controller did not like.  i finally figured this out and added a sonnet tempo pci ide controller.  while this was going on i moved up to my b&W. This last week i got the beige going again.  i made 3 partitions to the hard drive and installed 9.1 then I booted into os9 and installed 8.1.    I thought 8.1 was still hfs and hfs+ came in os 8.5 I was actually suprised the the disk installed into an hfs+ partition.  now i am installing 10.2.  3 major os's in one machine cool

I have a beige G3 233. Have you tried over clocking the motherboard yet? I haven't tried it, but I hear it can run stable at 300mhz. Can you do a master and slave configuration with that sonnet pci controller card? The beige G3 that I have can only do one IDE drive at a time on the controllers on the motherboard, unless you change the ROM.

yes i have over clocked the g3.

i have a 300 mhz running at 366 rock solid  I did add a small fan to blow at the heat sink.

i did have it running 400 but is crashed this was before the fan

the tempo will allow up to 4 hd 2 buses with master and slave. it is a great addition. I actual moved the tempo card to my b&w and got an old drive off of ebay for the g3 beige which as like an ata 66or 33 it has not caused a problem. you can get a lot of instruction for this on lem but i like www.drivejumper.com
