After I installed speed doubler on my performa, updated it, and turned off the "features", now the performa won't open things saying there isn't enough memory when I know there is and nothing else is open. Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to uninstall speed doubler? Thanks for any help!

Hmm I've never had this problem before... what kind of Performa is this?

It's a 6200CD with system 7.5.5, but now it's working fine.... must of just needed to be turned off for the night, which is weird because I restarted a few times yesterday and that didn't help.

I have had the same problem with my 6200 and 1400 on rare occassions, I think it's caused by the restarting over and over. What has happened is the ram hasn't, for lack of a better term, cleared all of the data it's storing so for some reason it can't be accessed. Sometimes letting it sit for a few minutes or a few hours seems to clear it out.

Very odd... was this after you installed speed doubler? Because I restated it lot's within a short amount of time before I installed speed doubler and it's never done that before.

Not neccesarely with speed doubler but when I have done full reinstalls, from the o/s to all the little apps I use. It's nothing serious. It just a by product of restarting. Every once in awhile the ram doesn't loose all of it's data. This was something I learned from apple many years ago when I got my 6200 new. (ah back when they had free tech support) I've also had it occour with my mini, imac a p.o.s. pc, it's a radom thing. Irritating, yes, serious, no. Sometimes I think macs just like to take a break before they want to play.
