The blurry and out of focus issues sound more like calibration problems than SCSI problems. The software packages that came with scanners often include a calibration utility. A calibration feature is also often found as part of the scanning interface.

Traditionally Scanners have been set as id 2 on the SCSI chain. Although I have never found a good reason behind this, it is part of SCSI Voodoo and is often mentioned as a way to cure SCSI scanning problems. Of course it is necessary to have the scanner attached and turned on when you power up the computer.

i am up to speed on old scsi issues like powering it up first.  i have it set to id 4 due to other hardware in the chain.  I think it is a calibration issue also but there does not seem to be a utility for that.  I have the microtek software disk.  may be some one else is Familure with microtek scanners

This KB article covers calibration of Mircrotek Scanners. Microtek mentions that calibration is not available for all models. Good luck.

the file you mentioned is for color calibration.  the issue i have is blurry image.  It should go through a calibration on start-up. It must be defective
