Versions of Real etc available for 7.6 doesn't necessary work that well with internet radio, but SoundJam does, actually. Here's a basicbasicbasic guide(much else isn't really needed). Choose in SoundJam's preferences:"Use SoundJam for internet playback". I'm using iCab2.9.9a configurated the way I've told elsewhere in S7T. Open http://www.blueears.com/main.htm in your browser and scroll down. The point for this is, that I know the station works fine, so incase you can't hear music, you know the problem's not in there. (It's electric blues, I'm sure you'll survive  ). In the bottom of the page you'll find in red: http://rs3.radiostreamer.com:8620 Copy it for pasting (in this case), open from SoundJam's Finder Bar: file-open url and paste the address in the window, play ok and Master Playlist opens, and music starts to stream. You can handle you radio station list like your other mp3 lists. In the Internet you're looking for radio stations which give to you URL's like the one of blueears, or mp3 streams. Rather than just listing players needed, like RealPlayer. Mp3 is the key here. Here's a very good site with a radio station list and a search engine: http://www.publicradiofan.com/progsearch.html It can open slowly, but it works actually quite fast after that. To show another way for playing a stream, here's an example. (You can find this station also with a search in PublicRadioFan). http://www.wwoz.org/ - Click "Listen online", then "Real Winamp Itunes". It'll download automatically a .pls file and starts SoundJam by itself. Kinda easy. Usually "listen" means there's a need for something like Realplayer, so this's an exception. Happy listening, you'll quickly get the hang of it! |
