(scroll down, it's there at the bottom of the page).

This is not a mistake by Deakin University and they told so.

The 8 LE works fine in 7.6.1 and it has a very good inbuild help/how-to.

You can use it for layouts ("Pagemaker"), photo retouching ("Photoshop") and drawing/painting ("Illustrator").

It's a limited edition, so there are things like, you can only export photos as Jpegs. But it's not time limited and works fine.

If you later would like to switch to Photoshop, you haven't wasted your time in learning CorelDraw's Photo-Paint, as work's done the same way, only names of the tools differ.

Enjoy!

Seems to work fine... a bit slow on my cache-less 100mhz 603e.  Will probably add to site.

CorelDraw 8 Graphics Suit, is probably the most expensive software purchase I have ever made. Over time though it has proved to be an excellent investment. PhotoPaint 8 is still my only graphics editing application and CorelDraw8 has been an excellent application for drawing as well as page layout work. Over all it is very nice software.

There is one bug (there is a work around) that cause CorelDraw to crash when using QuickTime newer than version 3 and the application works best when used with QuickTime 3.x. Overall I prefer using QuickTime 2.5 and unless the OS demands something newer that is what I always install.

Here's a way around it.

Make first two copies of a photo. One low resolution (like 72 dpi), another high resolution which you just save at this point. Even a slowish mac can work with a 72 dpi photo. Choose "Record". After you're happy with the achieved results, play the recording on the hi-res copy, and Photo-Paint will start to copy  all the work you've done for the lo-res, to the hi-res.

Go for a cuppa at this point. Take a small, large or xxxxxl, depending of your cpu/ram-specs.

Thanks for the quicktime info!

The Coreldraw's nice. My ex-wife used it as a pro magazine illustrator for years.

That's ok, I'm not intending on doing any graphics work on my Duo.
