Does anyone know if 7.6 is bootable from CD? I want to upgrade the HD in my machine and do a clean format and install to the new drive, so I will need to be able to load in an OS from other than the hard drive that is in the machine now.

7.6 OS install CDs are bootable at least on the machine they were made for. There are generic install CDs which will boot any hardware that supports OS 7.6. Most machine specific install CDs will also boot most any machine that supports OS 7.6, but I am sure there are exceptions.

How do you boot from CD? I just got my 7.6 CD today and the installer says to try booting from the CD before doing the install. I turned the machine off then back on with the CD in the drive, but nothing happened. Is there more to it than that??
