I picked up this mac utility in a thrift store. It says it is good for OS 6.03 and OS 7. I wonder if it works on 7.6.1 and above. I know it is limited to the HSF file system. |

Mactools was a top notch Disk Utility. It was purchased by Norton and simply disappeared. Mactools Pro V4 (Center Point Software) the last version was released in 1995 and supported PPC machines. Mactools V3 dropped support for System 6. So the version you obtained must be older still. My guess is that it would work fine with OS 7.6.1, but I would give it a try on a volume with some non essential data before I put it into service. bill
