How does this TV show work exactly? Do they have to get permission from the criminals to appear on TV? If so why would so many of these people in obviously embarrassing situations agree to appear on TV? And why doesn't anybody ever look at the camera? |

Dan, It is a status thing among the criminal set to appear on COPS. Yes they do have to get permission from the PD and then permision from the bad guys, after the fact of course. The bad guys think they are actors. It really is kind of funny.

Some people go on survivor some go on cops. Just depends on your need for embarassment...
