Hi guys,
I brought an external 18gb avid external drive off eBay. What I didn’t think about when I saw scsi was its 68pin (later scsi version). Is it compatible with older SCSI. I can’t see anything online to say it shouldn’t work just a cable or converter. Is that the case?

It looks like something like this'd do the trick (but only internal):

I think I've got a 9g drive like that in my 7600 with a similar adapter...I believe I set it up ages ago and haven't cracked it open since.  Will check when I can...

So, pretty sure if you can find the right external adapter it should work.

Can't remember fully, but I think the old Iomega Jaz drives had that kind of interface, and used to use those all the time.

Thanks Lauland.
It’s a powered external drive. To attach to my se30. Not seen or used that type of scsi connector before, normally the centronic or 50 pin type in the back of the mac. http://revontulet.org/2024/04/15/1afd95b88a854637a807b592e58e8345.jpeg

I’m hoping it’s just a cable or converter.
