I just installed my 2x 1 MB VRAM modules for my Power Mac 7200/75, bringing my total VRAM to 3 MB out of a max capacity of 4. Things are a little snappier, so I find it a pleasant result. Sometime I plan to get the last one to top off the maximum capacity. System Shock is still too laggy at 832 x 624. I'll see how 640 x 480 works. But it makes just about everything, including browsing this forum a little quicker. I just wanted to share this with my guys Take care!Edit: System Shock is actually playable now lol |

That’s great news. Every little helps ![]() I know some people like keeping things standard for the authentic experience but for me I like pimping mine to push the limits. Maybe it’s because I couldn’t afford to expand my first Mac back in 1990s. Ether way it’s great you can now play system shock in 640 x 480.

Thanks so much Neal! I want to keep my old Macs as useful as possible. I do kind of want to keep it standard, which is why I prefer to use System 7 on it. But I want to make it as enjoyable as possible also, hence the hardware upgrades hehe.Which Mac was your first?

I had a colour classic 4/40 1993/94 I did graphic design at college. I believe it was on system 7.1. Back then there were 12 Mac’s for about 120 students so time was limited so convinced my dad to buy me a Mac and a style writter II printer. What about you? I would have loved 640x480 back then as the little Mac only had a 10inch screen.
