I brought my Performa 631 CD back to life running System 7.6.1. Looking forward to working this computer into my daily use. Great computer, great OS and good applications. |

Same! welcome to our little Mac club, John!!  My second purchased Mac from a refurbisher was the Quadra 630, your Perfoma's twin!  I totally loved that Mac!! Well, okay, that's true of all my other Macs, but that's another story.. (it reminds of that Julio Iglesias song, 'For all the Macs I loved before', lol)  But seriously, there are tons of things you can do on your fast '040 Mac, so feel free to share your computing interests, goals and adventures and we'll definitely provide tips, software recommendations and shared experiences from our own Mac adventures!

Hi John, Welcome aboard. Lovely little machine, my 6200cd is in the same case as your 631. I’ve never owned a 68040 machine, would love one. What are you planning to do with it? Do you have it online? Either way Sounds exciting

Welcome to the forum, John! Your Performa and you fit right in! :-) Btw - Did you join from your Performa or a modern device? If you're using Internet Explorer 4 or iCab 2.9 on it, you should actually be able to navigate the forum at reasonable speeds. (I'm posting this from iCab 2.9 right now!) Are you the original owner of the Performa? How long have you been a Mac user? It might seem a lot of questions but then we're a friendly little community where we know eachother, kind of like a village pub. :-) What are you doing on your Performa thus far? There's a couple of things the old lady can still perform, maybe our app section on the S7T site can serve as an inspiration? And you'll find good bunch of us still use their System 7 machines almost exclusively - I use mine daily and have a smartphone as a companion in case I run into some internet thingy it can't do (Online Banking for example)
