Do anyone know how to populate the harddrive that you can make in the emulator from outside the emulator? example: i want a text file thats on the macintosh to be able to be accessed by the atari emulator. /zChris |

Hi Z! ![]() I can only think of a few ways to achieve what you're asking for, but even then, some things in an emulator can and possibly do break, so here goes nothing lol ![]() 1. depending on your host, a simple and self-contained solution would be to use the Mac's networking in the emulator to connect your emulated Mac's files to your host OS. 2. on the Basilisk II emulator (and maybe others?) you can turn on an option to share a folder or directory inside of your emulated Mac. The extra benefit is that you do not need to use any networking inside your emulated Mac drive. But please remember to only save documents like text, images, etc. and archived files onto the host directory (not any programs or games!) 3. inside a PPC emulator like SheepShaver and QEMU (the two I know of) you may be able to run Goliath, a WebDAV client application that can connect to a WebDAV server, which in turn can be then accessed on another client on your host OS, or a different device altogether for that matter. This does involve adding a web-based service but it should get the job done for a two-way connection ![]() 4. HTTP/FTP servers: that one may be a little tougher, but a FTP or HTTP file server can host files from inside your emulator over the emulated Mac's that you can open and save outside the emulator I'm sure there are more ways to share files one-way or bidirectionally, but these are the ones I can think of right now; I hope these ideas work out for what you're trying to do!

So the only information I could gather on this Mac OS 8/9 PPC Atari ST emulator, although it's not clear if it's compatible with all versions of Mac OS 8, was found on this now defunct website: http://web.archive.org/web/20120514082445id_/http://users.skynet.be/sky39147 Hopefully it can help provide you with a few more clues

The AtariST ROM download links to this site and I refuse to go any further! ![]() Hail Amiga! Amiga4Ever!! PS: At least our websites work. This Atari site reports "Fatal error: Uncaught Error:" on most requests. I betcha they run that on a TOS system

Maybe i should just upgrade to MacOS8.6 and use a newer version of the emulator, even though i would like to be in the 7.6 category. You can get atari tos roms here http://avtandil.narod.ru/tose.html No SSL so should work on mac os 7!

Watch out, he's saying something that is somehow positively related to something Russian! Mainstream media powers, get him! :-D Unfortunately I have no Atari (emulator) experience except playing on my dad's 520 ST about 35 years ago. Maybe our Mr. Atari Knezzen can shed some light on how to transfer files into the emulated environment?

I just remembered that you have MagiCMac as well. Not an emulator as such, more like an Atari virtual machine if you'd like. Can be found here: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/magic-mac-6

My cousin & best friend used to have an Atari ST and we had epic "competitions" between the two of us. So I'd like to relive those days and the triumphs I felt winning - as long as we stayed away from interlace mode, in which case my dearest cousin won. ;-)
