clack.....clack ...clack-clack .... remember the sound your System 7 Mac's hard disk made when you opened a folder full of files? I recently acquired an old LC III and while I don't miss the performance, I sure do miss that sound. And I'm sure some of you can relate :-)

What is this about?

What I'm looking for is a program that will make your Mac's speakers emit the old sound of a SCSI HDD when reading from disk. Nothing more than that. I just think it'd add greatly to the nostalgic feel and could probably be done in the form of a small extension.

I haven't been able to locate such a program and I don't think it exists. (Prove me otherwise ;-) )

So this would need some coding. (hence, it's in our dev section)

Anyone interested?

Damn man, I'm trying to make my computers as quiet as possible and now you  want to add more sound ;)

I'm quite sure I had something like this laying around.
Making sounds depending on HD activity. I'll search the archives tonight.

Amiga emulators offer that sound for your floppy disk - and I find it spooky. :O
