My Power supply went tits up on my 6400/200 but I managed to track a new one/old stock down on ebay so hopefully I can get back online using System 7 soon on it soon. I will keep the old one and see if I can get it repaired as a spare I can see the component that has blown but will leave it to an expert to fix it. Christopher. |

Yeah, PSUs tend to be the primary hardware failures these days, it seems. I also keep my spare ones in hope that one day someone will offer a professional service for them. Good luck with your new one! (new old stock I suppose?)

That's odd, could it be a time issue? ![]() I mean if the clock went wonky during the time the Mac had no power, maybe you can reset the time? I'm just taking a wild guess as to what connection the power supply would have to your network card, although an incorrect time *should* not affect your networking, but you never know.

That was one of my thoughts initially but I reset the time and date and rebooted but no difference, all the lights are flickering on the card but there is not ip address being picked up by DHCP on my network settings. Christopher.

I suggest you configure your TCP/IP manually. This makes troubleshooting networks so much easier.

Yes! I second that move, especially when connecting with older (and even not so old) hardware and software it has fixed plenty of networking issues for me as well (unless the manual IPs conflict with another device on the LAN, but those things don't occur very often)

Great - welcome to the forums, 6400 ;-) These days pretty much everything seems to focus on ebay, unfortunately. You may try your luck with some retro communities but I guess an ebay watch is your best bet.

Not sure if this will help in your case, but I had luck once finding a RAM DIMM for another machine by searching eBay for whatever numbers were printed on the chips. Found RAM that worked but that was not well-labeled or just unknown to the seller.
